8's And V-12's

From 1989 To 1999, BMW Entered The Personal Luxury Coupe Market Aiming At The Mercedes Benz S-Class Coupe (Later Named CL-Class) With The 840Ci and 850Ci Line Up. The 840Ci Was Equipped With A 4.0 Liter Fuel Injected 8 Cylinder Engine Producing 286 Horsepower Mated To A 4 Speed Automatic In The States While Offering A 6 Speed Manual In European Models. Opting For The 850Ci Rewarded You With A 5.5 Liter 12 Cylinder Engine, Standard 6 Speed Manual, A Chart Topping Top Speed Of 186 MPH And Blistering 0-60 Times. The 850Ci Carried A Base Price Of 122,600. Due To High Price and Declining Sales, The 8-Series Was Killed Towards The End Of 1999. The Mercedes CL Is Still Produced To Date.

Today However, BMW Offers The 6-Series, Which Is Aimed At The Mercedes SL and Lexus SC. Is That Enough Though? I Think Not. Mercedes Is Dominating the Upper Luxury Coupe Market With Its CL550, CL600, CL63 and CL65 Cars, 2 Of Which Is Putting Out Over 500 Horsepower In V-12 Forms. There Is Obviously A Market For These Cars And More Than Enough Room For BMW To Slot Back In With A New V-12 Powered 860i Maybe? Hopefully They Get The Picture But As Of Now, If We Want V-12 Power In A 2 Door Form, Mercedes and Bentley Are Our Only Options...

G by Infiniti

Early This Year, Infiniti Released The New G37 Convertible Powered By The Sedans 328 Horsepower V6 Engine. It Now Competes Against BMW's Long Running 3-Series Convertible and Lexus New IS Convertible. However, When Will Infiniti Build A G to Compete Against The High Performance IS-F From Lexus, C63 AMG From Benz, RS4 From Audi and M3 From BMW? When The G35 Was Released in 2003, It Was Aimed Directly At The 3-Series Sedan and That Was When BMW Met Its Match. In My Opinion, Infiniti Has Given The German Automakers A Run For Its Money and To Stay In The Runnings, It Has To Build A M3, AMG, RS and F Fighter!

Active Hybrid 7

BMW Adds A New Model To Their 7-Series Roster, The Active Hybrid 7. New For 2010, The Active Hybrid 7 Competes Against The Upcoming Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid and Already Available Lexus LS600hL Luxury Hybrid Sedan. Modeled After The Petrol Powered 750i Sedan, The Hybrid 7 Is Powered By It's 4.4 Liter V8 Producing 455 Combined Horsepower and 516 Pounds Of Blistering Torque Propelling This Harpooned Whale To 60 In 4.8 Seconds. Fuel Economy Ratings Won't Be Released Until Its U.S. Debut, But Expect Them To Be 15% Better Than The 750i. Soon To Follow They Hybrid 7 Is The V-12 Petrol Powered 760i/Li, 740d (diesel) and H7 Hydrogen Powered 7.
